About the Role
As the Science & Industry Liaison at WFFI, you will serve as a vital connector between our research and business communities. Your role involves staying closely aligned with both sides — gathering insights, tracking progress, and helping shape strategic decisions grounded in scientific understanding.
What You Will Do
- Identify, engage, and maintain strong relationships with scientific experts, research institutions, startups, and industry partners
- Develop and execute a collaborative engagement strategy aligned with the institute's research roadmap
- Represent WFFI at conferences, partner meetings, and cross-sector dialogues
- Translate scientific insights into opportunities for collaboration and co-development
- Gather and report field insights, trends, and stakeholder feedback to guide internal R&D strategy
What We Expect
- At least 5 years of proven experience in industry or applied research in protein science, biotechnology, or precision fermentation
- An advanced degree (PhD, MSc, MD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are a plus
- Willingness to travel (5%, within EU), preferably based in or near Wageningen
